Company ABC just paid you $5,638.50 CAD
As a professional service company, it is imperative that you offer an online payment option for your customers in today's world.
I have found the perfect solution for all professional service firms and it is even better then Vegan & Gluten Free Peanut Butter Cup Pancakes :-)
It's hard to believe that in 2017 many businesses are still having trouble trying to sell even ONE thing online.
Well don't fret, this is where I can help you out!
I am going to share with you a quick and easy way for you to get paid online for all your services rendered and as we know the quicker we get paid, the better our cash flow, which equals a better business.
Even if you're NOT planning to collecting online payments for your services right now, I suggest you read this post and save it for future reference ( or share it with someone who can use it RIGHT NOW!!!).
IF YOU'RE SELLING consulting services of any kind, I'd suggest Freshbooks for any professional service or consulting firm invoicing any amount.
You can do so many cool things with Freshbooks, but for simplicity I am going to show you the bare bones here so you can easily get started and collect that first online payment.
So, lets use the amount above, $5,638.50 CAD as the amount you would like to invoice for.
Normally you might use a Word Doc, Simply Accounting, Quick Books etc. to invoice. Instead try Freshbooks so you can get paid faster and save a ton of time.
(Setup time: 15 minutes max!)
Step 1 - Add a customer profile
Create a Freshbooks account and add the customer you want to invoice to your Freshbooks account, like this:
Click on New Invoice and create an invoice for the services rendered for the customer. You can select the client in the dropdown menu at the top of the form. Click save as a draft.
Step 3 - Now get paid fast
Click on the settings link in the top right corner of your Freshbooks account, then click on Accept Credit Cards. From here you can select from a number of options, such as PayPal and Stripe. To keep things simple, click on the Freshbooks Payments option. Once set up you can start accepting credit cards online.
Once you have your credit card payment option selected and connected with your Freshbooks, go back to the invoice you created and click Send Invoice.
Now you are ready get paid online, fast for any invoice you send out via Freshbooks.
Why not use PayPal Chris?
Well, we used to use PayPal, but we have ran into some issues with PayPal over the last 8 years while invoicing online.
What are/were they?
- Some people just don't feel comfortable using PayPal to pay larger sums of money with.
- We even upgraded to PayPal Pro to integrate the the payment solution, however, PayPal Pro does not accept AMEX, which a number of our customers like to use.
- PayPal Pro has a monthly fee of $35, plus transaction fees. Freshbooks Payments only has the transaction cost...no monthly fees. Bonus!
- Freshbooks Payments automatically deposits the money into your bank account daily. This is AWESOME! No longer do we need to manually withdraw from Paypal to our bank account. Double bonus!
There you have it. I can't wait to hear about your first email that has the following subject line...
Company ABC just paid you $5,638.50 CAD or more!!!
Bonus places to sell online:
Depending on what you are selling, there are now so many great options. Here are some services that may help with your online payment struggles.
Selling an ebook - Amazon.com is the place to sell it. You can even turn a blog series or article into an ebook and sell it on the Kindle. Just save it as a PDF file and upload it to http://kdp.amazon.com.
Selling product(s) - If you want a legit online store, there are three solid providers out there that I recommend all the time.
Selz ( I wrote another post about how I used Selz on my blog Eat Greens Every Day)
They are all great providers. However, depending on the situation I usually recommend Shopify, because they are Canadian. :-)
Thank you for reading.
If you tell me what you're trying to sell in the comments, I'll respond and give you some advice on where to start! (or just share a story how YOU sold something quickly, I love hearing those). Please comment here.
